PARK — New Historical Publication — "A Road" by Robert S.
Gilbert. The Town of Hyde Park Historical Society has recently published a
booklet, "A Road" by Hyde Park native Robert S. Gilbert. This is a story about
Violet Avenue from Poughkeepsie to East Park, NY. Bob tells about the individuals and
businesses along this road, the violet industry, and many farms along the way —
including the Gilbert Farm, owned by his father.
There are a limited number of copies
which can be purchased for $10 each, plus $2.50 postage. Send checks to the Town of Hyde
